How reliable is solar energy?

There are solar systems installed over 30 years ago that still produce electric today. Solar manufacturers have been spending millions of dollars on research and development to produce the best product possible. Our goal is to provide you with the best of those products while insuring a worry-free installation process.

What rebates are available to me?

The federal government extended the 30% rebate till 2016. The states governments vary. There are low-interest loans available from both the states and regional banks. Our company’s representatives can assist you in determining how these programs work for you.

What is an inverter?

An inverter is a device that changes DC current to AC current. The solar panels produce DC current. Your home, office, or business uses AC current.

Will Solar power work for me?

Solar power works on most buildings. Occasionally ground mount systems are required. Contact one of our representatives for a site analysis to help determine the best system for your needs.

How will I know if my system is not working?

Solar panels have no moving parts. The inverters will display the power generated. We offer a monitoring system that allows us to monitor your system from our office. If the system develops some error, it will alert us of a failure and our technicians will repair it.

How long can I expect the system to last?

The solar panels come with a 25 year warranty. Because there are no moving parts to wear out, the panels will work much longer than that. There are installed systems working in excess of 40 years.

What is “net metering”?

Net metering is the process by which the electric meter direction will spin backwards during sunny days, forward when its dark. The net result is a financial saving to you.

How does a lease work?

A lease is a program where the system is owned by our company and you pay on it in “installments”. The payments are usually similar to your current utility payments, in some cases less. At the end of the lease you will own the system and continue to reap the rewards. The lease will be designed to suit your needs based upon a site evaluation by one of our specialists.

What size system is right for me?

The ideal system is one that is designed to meet your usage plus 10%. If you feel you would like to sell some back to the utility, then a larger system may be right for you. If you feel you want to only lessen your bill, a smaller system may be right for you. Contact us and a representative will be able to help you make that determination.

Will my insurance cover the panels?

This is a question that we cannot answer entirely. The panels are UL Listed and are designed for the elements. The best advice we can give is to ask you to contact your insurance agent and ask him.

Is solar cost effective?

Solar power is gaining political ground at an astounding rate. Because our politicians are behind the industry we are seeing more rebates, grants, and loans to help offse the cost. This helps make the systems cost effective. Some of the rebates can be found at DSIRE.
